Larry Oathout

Larry has been in the construction industry since the early 1980’s. In the early years of his career, he split his time between commercial fishing in the summer and construction work in the winter. He eventually gave up commercial fishing to concentrate exclusively on establishing his own residential construction company in the Gig Harbor area. However, after owning and operating his company for several years, Larry decided that he preferred the “do work” side of the industry, ultimately bringing him to the role of Superintendent for WA Patriot.

Larry recognizes that the construction industry has its challenges with all of the potential safety hazards, varying industry standards, and municipality bureaucracy; but his philosophy is that you must enjoy the work if you want to have a successful career within the industry.

Larry is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing. He is also passionate about Legislative Advocacy for Individuals with Disabilities. In the past, he has volunteered as a baseball coach for a special needs baseball team.
