WA Patriot Celebrates Retirement of Sr. Project Manager

WA Patriot celebrated the retirement of one of our most experienced Project Managers, Mark Zygmontowicz, in January. Mark’s professional journey started with Wade Perrow Construction in 1991, and eventually led him to become an integral member of the WA Patriot team. He is an invaluable team member whose dedication and commitment to getting the job done was recognized by everyone he worked with. Although his retirement is our loss, it is well deserved.

Thank you, Mark, for your many years of service and friendship. Cheers to your retirement!

2018 Holiday Party – Celebration of Success

The WA Patriot team celebrated another successful year on Saturday, December 8th at our annual Holiday Dinner Party, which was held at the Alma Mater Tacoma venue. Alma Mater is an artist-focused venue, so we incorporated an artist theme with live painters Lucien Vedego and Ameila Kaiser, and Magician Nicholas Byers to provide entertainment for the evening.

Evening festivities included recognizing this year’s PATRIOT Award winner, Mikhail Balasyuk, who was nominated by his peers for his dedication, reliability, and passion. We also recognized our craft personnel for their safety successes.

A big THANK YOU to an amazing team for all your contributions throughout the year.

Cheers to 2019!

WA Patriot’s 2018 Thanksgiving Food Drive

WA Patriot is grateful to all who contributed and who share our passion for helping local families in need in the community where we live and work.

WA Patriot Completes the MIT Veterans Memorial Park, Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Veterans Day

The Muckleshoot Indian Tribe held their ribbon cutting ceremony for the Veterans Memorial Park and Plaza this past Veterans Day. The Memorial, constructed by WA Patriot and designed by Nakano Associates, features a winding path and dry stream that meander through the site and converge at the Veteran’s Memorial Wall, where a 25’ long by 4’ tall eagle is highlighted.

WA Patriot is honored to have worked with MIT and their Veterans committee to be a part of this memorial that recognizes the service and sacrifice the soldiers and their families have made.

WA Patriot Welcomes Two New Project Engineers to our Team

WA Patriot is pleased to announce the addition of two new Project Engineers: Katie Johnson and Amanda KingTalik. They are currently supporting projects for Zerah Florance (Tool Gage, Alaska Airlines), Neil Shaw (Boeing Auburn projects), and Kayla Fillion (Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Veterans Memorial Plaza and Park.) We are happy to have these two new team members on board, and look forward to their growth with our company!

Congratulations Kayla Fillion

WA Patriot is very pleased to announce that Kayla Fillion has moved into a new position as Project Manager. Kayla has been with WA Patriot since 2015 after graduating from WSU. To ease into her new role, she will be managing smaller projects and taking a share of responsibilities from Project Managers on other projects.

Sitka Fishing Trip

WA Patriot’s Superintendents and Shareholders took to the open ocean for a weekend of fishing off the coast of Sitka, Alaska in August. Not only did they enjoy the camaraderie and team building, but they also succeeded in catching a lot of delicious salmon and halibut that they brought back to share with the rest of us.

Happy Retirement Dave!

Dave Seals, master carpenter, officially retired this summer after 41 years as Union Carpenter where he put in over 77,000 hours of high-quality work. Dave was one of WA Patriot’s most trusted finish carpenters and his body of work speaks to that. Thank you, Dave, for a great career and for the years spent being part of the WA Patriot family! We wish you the best!

Point Fosdick Antique Airplane Hangar

WA Patriot completed tenant improvements to the Point Fosdick Antique Airplane Hangar early in September 2018. The hangar is a type of living museum that features a collection of antique airplanes, motorcycles, and cars. It will offer guided tours or free walking tours, community events, public speakers and aviation movies. The Hangar will also be available to rent for wedding receptions and other private events.

The owners of the museum hope to inspire young people to become pilots and mechanics, and their vision is that the community will come to the hangar to watch the planes fly and learn more about the history of aviation.
