Making Wishes Come True

WA Patriot has partnered with Make-A-Wish, Alaska & Washington to adopt the wish of 7-year-old SiddaLee to swim with dolphins at Discovery Cove in Florida. SiddaLee was diagnosed at 6 months old with stage 4 kidney disease. Despite having to endure hundreds of therapies, maintaining a special diet and undergoing dialysis, she remains an all-around happy, rainbow loving girl! She received a kidney in 2019 and is now able to enjoy a wide variety of foods.

WA Patriot is grateful for organizations like Make-A-Wish whose sole purpose is to serve children who are battling a critical illness. Making wishes come true can give children like SiddaLee and their families the chance to believe anything is possible!

Serving Those Who Serve Others

The WA Patriot team rallied again in support of the Tacoma Rescue Mission by helping them on December 8, 2021 with their lunch prep and service at the Main Campus on So. Tacoma Way. WA Patriot is proud to support such an amazing organization that focuses on the homeless crisis we are facing in our community and our country – and that includes Veterans. They have a Veterans Resource Center located at the Downtown Campus, which provides direct service, assistance and guidance to our community’s homeless veterans who are in need of shelter and food. TRM links them with needed services while offering support and encouragement, and has a 10-bed dorm reserved just for them that has been full since the day it opened. TRM partners with the US Veteran’s Affairs Administration to make these services available to our Veterans.

WA Patriot Supports Peace of Love Cookie Company

WA Patriot enjoyed some delicious custom cookies featuring our logo icon, compliments of Peace of Love Cookie Co. in Virginia. Its owner, Ella, is a remarkably talented and inspiring young lady who is making a difference with every cookie she sells. Her business donates 10% of the profits to SPARC, a performing arts school in Richmond, VA for children with or without disabilities. We are grateful and proud to help Ella serve her community by supporting her business. We encourage you to watch the video linked below about what Ella does and why. This girl is truly amazing, and so are her cookies!

Construction is Underway on the GHP Fish Food Bank

WA Patriot has begun construction on a new 10,000 sf facility for the Gig Harbor Peninsula Fish Food Bank. The new, larger home will help GHP FISH serve clients, volunteers and the community well into the future and allow more efficient processing and storage of donated food and other items. It offers expanded shopping areas and has room for an expanded clothing and household goods area, a conference room for groups, and private offices to provide a place for confidential client meetings. WA Patriot’s Mac Stanton, Zerah Florance, Alex Powell, Rory Godinez and Phil Kvamme have worked together with the design team, Ratcliffe Gagliano Architects and Owner’s Representative Wade Perrow to get this project off to a great start. We look forward to a successful finish in spring/early summer of 2022.

WA Patriot Joins Gig Harbor’s Adopt-A-Road Program

Earlier this month, WA Patriot took part in the City of Gig Harbor’s Adopt-A-Road program as part of our commitment to SERVE our community. The goal of the program is to make Gig Harbor the best and cleanest community in our area by reducing roadside litter, and to build civic pride in a litter-free city road system. Many thanks to our volunteers who took a few hours of their afternoon to remove litter on Peacock Hill, from Vernhardson Street to 112th Street. WA Patriot will continue to serve the Gig Harbor community with volunteer teams scheduled four times per year to help maintain clean roads throughout the city.
