WA Patriot was proud to support the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation’s 2017 Swing for a Soldier Golf Tournament held on July 10, 2017. The event was graciously supported by local and regional organizations and golfers who share in our passion to ensure all our returning veterans have the support they need to continue to serve outside of the military. Combat related Post Traumatic Stress and Injuries are greatly impacting our veterans, and the foundation is partnering with proven programs to be part of the solution

WA Patriot participated this year in the CAPE (Career and Pathway Expo) Program, which serves approximately 250 girls in 6th – 8th grades from Peninsula School District. The program is aimed at getting middle school girls excited about and involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). WA Patriot Project Manager Zerah Florance, along with Architect Jessica Archer, walked three groups of 8-10 girls through a WA Patriot project under construction in Gig Harbor where they were able to see a concrete stem wall, concrete placement, and rebar embeds. Zerah and Jessica explained to them about all the different professionals involved in a construction project and the large number of career paths you can take and be involved in with construction. They also touched on general materials, methods, and basics of construction plans. Many thanks to Zerah and Jessica for taking their personal time to help expose these young girls to STEM!
WA Patriot was proud to support the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation at the 1st Annual Pull For A Soldier trap shoot event on September 15, 2016. Our team of talented sportsmen enjoyed a day of friendly competition at the Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club while helping to raise funds and awareness for Soldiers and their families while they recover from war and readjust to life back home.
The WA Patriot team believes in supporting our community through Parks Appreciation Day and this year we were proud to volunteer at the KLM Veterans Memorial Park in Gig Harbor again. Our team worked tirelessly alongside other community volunteers to beautify the park, which required a lot of weeding, planting bulbs, and spreading beauty bark. We appreciate all that came together to support this worthy community cause.
WA Patriot was a proud exhibitor at this year’s Alliance Northwest Conference at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center. Alliance NW is the largest business-to-government event hosted in the region. It was a valuable opportunity for our team to strengthen established relationships, explore new teaming opportunities with small and diverse businesses, and hear from expert speakers regarding the marketplace’s latest news and trends along with upcoming government contracting opportunities.
WA Patriot was honored to sponsor Mile 8 in this year’s Race For A Soldier in Gig Harbor on September 27. WA Patriot would like to thank Zerah Florance, Project Manager, and Sarah von Keitz, Project Engineer, for their participation in this year’s Career and Pathway Expo (CAPE) at Harbor Ridge Middle School in Gig Harbor. The intent of CAPE is to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math careers to female middle schoolers. Zerah and Sarah teamed up with PSF Mechanical to lead three workshops demonstrating the theory behind design-build in the construction industry. We are proud of their interest in serving our community by taking part in this expo. Thank you, ladies!
